Free Tutoring Available
If you are interested in
having your high school child receive extra help in reading and math
from a professional tutoring service, we are happy to inform you that
your child may be eligible to receive free tutoring services before
school, after school or on weekends from a State approved provider. This
is referred to as Supplemental Educational Services. As a result of the
federal law called No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Watertown High
School qualifies for offering FREE Tutoring services to eligible
students for the 2010-11 school year. To be eligible for this service,
your child must qualify to participate in the free and reduced meal
program in the Watertown School District and be registered at Watertown
High School. Below is a list of approved providers in our area. These providers have agreed to provide services that are consistent with the instructional program of the district/state. They have also agreed to provide you and your student’s teacher(s) information on the progress of your student. During the 2008-09 school year, 243 students at the high school were eligible for free tutoring and eight students participated in the program.
