RETAIL & REALITY IN BUSINESS

ELECTIVE

PREREQUISITE:  Introduction to Business with a "B" grade or better; Teacher approval

This class is designed to actively involve students in the world of business through hands-on experiences as well as projects, discussion, and research. The students will be required to work in the school store, as well as manage, promote, keep records, develop new products and other business items for the store. With an emphasis on business practices, the students will investigate human resource development, the role of organized labor, the importance of technology to conduct effective business, the use of market research and financial data, global business considerations, and advertising and promotional activities. Components of entrepreneurship (starting your own business) along with professional conduct elements will also be incorporated throughout the class.
