This course teaches students to look for desirable qualities in ready-to-wear clothing. This is a clothing construction class. They will learn to use a serger sewing machine and an embroidery machine for professional results. Also included will be lessons on alterations such as shortening or lengthening garments and altering garment size. Students will construct pajamas and garment(s) of their own choosing. Emphasis will be on learning to use commercial patterns and learning skills needed to sew professional looking garments. The pajama project is provided for, but additional projects are at the student’s expense.
