ELECTIVE
ELIGIBILITY: 9, 10, 11, 12 with previous orchestra experience
PREREQUISITE: Middle School orchestra or audition
CREDIT: 1
Students who participated in Watertown’s or another school’s orchestra program through the eighth grade are eligible to participate. Other students may audition and participate if they show the minimal proficiency necessary to be successful in this class. Concert Strings is concerned with refining the fundamental string skills and developing advanced techniques. Students will also learn some basic music theory, history, and appreciation. Additional activities include All-State Orchestra, Solo and Ensemble Contest, and private or group lessons.
