Students will apply writing techniques and editing, organization, and communication skills to the production of the school newspaper, the Purple and Gold. The course requires a significant degree of independence and initiative on the part of the student as well as strong computer skills (PageMaker skills a must), and leadership skills are required. Class members write at least 10 stories per quarter with additional editing and layout duties. The importance of deadlines is emphasized and strictly enforced. This course does not count toward Senior English requirement.
