English 9 enhances student skills in reading, writing, and listening through the study of literature and composition. Literature units will include short stories, several novels, and plays. Grammar units include the study of the parts of speech, the parts of the sentence, correct usage, capitalization, and punctuation. Spelling and vocabulary tests will be given. Compositions will include narrative, persuasive, literary, expository, and technical papers.
