This course will prepare students wanting to enroll in AP English. As well as incorporating all the elements of the College Prep class, Accelerated will delve into works to discover subtleties in writers' attitudes and tones. Several novels, plays, and short stories will be read to demonstrate writing movements and styles of American Literature. Poetry will also be a focus of works studied. Six major papers, including a documented research paper, will round out the class. This course will also cover ACT test preparation. Students will be expected to work independently and at a rapid pace.
