Students will investigate the chemistry of living organisms; plant and animal cells; cellular transport mechanisms; molecular and human genetics; the structure and function of major systems within the human body; taxonomy of living organisms and ecology and environmental issues. This course is an alternative science course for students whose needs cannot be met in the regular biology course. This one credit course must be recommended by a teacher/counselor and meets one of the lab science requirements for high school graduation, but does not meet college entrance requirements.
