Health care is the largest and fastest growing industry in the US. This class offers students
opportunities to explore Health Science Career Cluster. The Health Science Career Cluster orients
students to careers that promote health, wellness, and diagnosis as well as treat injuries and diseases.
Some of the careers involve working directly with people, while others involve research into diseases
or collecting and formatting data and information. Students will learn basic health care skills, tour
healthcare facilities and job shadow at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System. Students are invited to
participate in SkillsUSA to demonstrate their skills and leadership. Articulation credits with SD
technical schools are available.
