Students who want to confirm their career plans and goals may want to consider some real work world
experience before finalizing their post-secondary plans. Students have an opportunity to apply their
skills in a “real world” setting and to evaluate career opportunities through the Lake Area Multi-
District internship program. The requirements include completion of a Lake Area Multi-District class
with a “B” or better grade. A student’s attendance record is also considered. (See your counselor
and/or Mrs. LeVake). The student will be required to write a mid-term paper and a final paper, as well
as develop a short PowerPoint presentation about the experience. LAMD staff will make the paid or
unpaid internship arrangements with the employer. The student enters in to an agreement with LAMD
and a working mentor to receive credit for each 150 hours worked on the job.
