Gesley Great Person Award

All seniors who have attended Watertown Senior High School for at least two years are eligible.

The person selected shall personify a great person...like the early settlers in South Dakota who were friendly, hard working, resourceful, willing to help others in the time of need, thrifty, persevering and dependable.  The recipient will be of good moral character, will have integrity, good work habits and be zestful and fun to be with and plan to attend a South Dakota  post-secondary school.

The proceeds ($500) of the award will be distributed to the recipient, and the institution they choose to attend, upon notice to WHS, that the recipient has registered for the second term at the post secondary institution.  Should the recipient not attend a a post secondary institution in the year following graduation from high school, the recipient will forfeit all claim to the Great Person Award.

Please submit your choices for the Gesley Great Person on the linked Quia Survey below.  Please rank your choices from 1 to 14.  Number 1 being your first choice and number 14 your last choice.  The six students who have the lowest sum of combined ranks will be our six finalists.  The six finalists must then participate in an interview to be awarded the winner of the Gesley Great Person Award. 

I am asking you to type your name on the survey so I know that everyone invited to vote has done so.  If you don't feel you know enough of the students well enough to submit  a survey, please let me know.  I don't expect you to know all of the applicants, that's why I have asked several teachers to submit a survey.  Thanks again for your help with this process.  Brad Brandsrud
