There are two different ACT test options, the ACT Assessment or the ACT Assessment Plus Writing.  The ACT Assessment Plus Writing includes a 30-minute Writing Test.  The Writing Test is not required by all colleges and universities, so check with the schools you are considering attending or go to www.actstudent.org for a list of schools that require or recommend the Writing Test.

The ACT is a college admission test.  Watertown High School is a test site, where the ACT is given 6 times throughout the year. Watertown High School's ACT Code is 421-385. The WHS Test Center Code is 184-580. If you are planning to play Division I or II sports in college, you will need the NCAA Clearinghouse Code (9999) as one of the college/scholarship choices (Block O).

Students are encouraged to register online and create a free ACT web account at www.actstudent.org  All information you need for registering is available on-line and you will need to pay with a credit card. If you are not able to register online, you may submit a packet by mail. These packets are available in the WHS Student Services Office.

If a junior wants to take the ACT it is recommended to take it at the end of the junior year.  Seniors are recommended to take the ACT in September or October.

PLAN (Pre-ACT Test)

PLAN - the ACT college readiness test - was given to 10th graders at Watertown High School during the April testing period.

PLAN is a great way to prepare for the ACT test. It covers the same subjects and gives an estimated ACT score. PLAN also lets you know if you're on track for college. It points out your academic strengths and areas you need to improve. It also helps you find careers that match your interest and connects you with more colleges that are interested in you. Students who take PLAN typically score higher on the ACT than those who do not. Learn more about PLAN at www.planstudent.org

Students who are on free or reduced school lunches qualify for a fee waiver and should pick up that form in Student Services.

Results/interpretation sessions will be announced after the test results are returned.
