Summer Art Institute

Do you dream of being an artist? Do you want to learn art skills and techniques from professional artists? Located on the campus of the University of South Dakota, this week-long Art Institute offers high school students the opportunity to experience college life through classes in the visual arts. The Institute provides educational classes for students to develop an art portfolio in Ceramics, Drawing, Graphic Design, Painting, Photography, Printmaking and Sculpture. Students will explore educational opportunities and career paths in the visual arts through classes led by exceptional faculty from USD and professional artists.

The Indians Into Medicine Program (INMED) is a comprehensive program designed to assist American Indian students who aspire to be health professionals to meet the needs of our tribal communities.

The Summer University Program of The Indian University of North America, a partnership between Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation and the University of South Dakota, will begin Saturday, June 9 and end on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.  The program has four purposes:

  1. to prepare accepted students for the rigors of college by offering college prepatory courses for students who need them,
  2. to provide accepted students freshman-level university courses which will transfer to any regionally accredited college or university, students complete one semester of college during the summer,
  3. to extend accepted students paid working internships at the Memorial's visitor complex, and
  4. to further fulfill the mission of the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation.

 

 

 

2012 Youth Excursion

Codington-Clark Electric Co-op needs students to represent our cooperative at the South Dakota rural Electric Youth Excursion this summer.

The details of this all-expense-paid learning experience for current school year freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are available in the Student Services Office.
